Data Deletion — Nexus Vision Player
1. Scope and Application
This data deletion policy applies to the Nexus Vision Player application across all supported platforms (Android TV, Google TV, Android mobile smartphones, and tablets).
This page is publicly accessible without requiring account creation or login, allowing users and Google Play review teams to inspect our data deletion policies at any time.
2. How to Request Data Deletion
To exercise your right to erasure or request deletion of any technical data associated with your usage, you can contact our support team directly:
- Contact Email: nexusvisionplayer@gmail.com
- Recommended Subject Line:
Data deletion request – Nexus Vision Player - Information to provide: Provide only the information strictly necessary to identify your records, such as your Google Play Order ID (e.g. GPA.XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXX) if your request relates to a Premium license or purchase.
3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
By design, the vast majority of user data is stored exclusively on your device:
- Playlists (M3U, M3U8) and configured server credentials (server URL, username, password encrypted locally with AES-256-GCM via hardware-backed Android Keystore);
- Favorite channels, playback history, and resume position;
- User profiles and playback preferences (theme, language, audio/video settings, hardware decoder selection);
- Parental control PIN (locally hashed and encrypted);
- Cached data (EPG program guides, channel logos, local metadata).
How to delete your local data:
- Within the app: Go to Settings → Privacy → Reset Data, or manually delete individual playlists and servers from the playlist management screen.
- Via Android System Settings: Open Android Settings → Apps → Nexus Vision Player → Storage → Clear Data (and Clear Cache).
- By uninstalling: Uninstalling Nexus Vision Player permanently removes all local databases and files stored in the application's secure sandbox.
4. Data Processed on Nexus Infrastructure
When you use network-enabled features or Premium licenses, minimal technical records may be processed or maintained on our secure backend infrastructure:
- License management and purchase validation: Anonymized technical device identifier (short derived fingerprint or random UUID), license status, and Google Play Billing purchase token;
- Technical diagnostics and error logs: Anonymized crash/diagnostic reports only if you explicitly opted-in within the application;
- Support correspondence: Email communications sent to our support inbox.
Upon request sent to nexusvisionplayer@gmail.com, these records will be deleted or permanently anonymized, subject to the legal retention requirements detailed below.
5. Data Managed by Third-Party Services
Certain optional features integrate with independent third parties that maintain their own account management and deletion procedures:
- Google Play, Google Play Billing & Play Integrity: Google account management, purchase history, and device integrity attestation (manage via your Google Account);
- Google Firebase (Crashlytics / Cloud Messaging): Anonymized crash and delivery logs if enabled with your consent;
- Trakt.tv: If you enabled Trakt scrobbling, your viewing history is managed directly within your Trakt account (trakt.tv);
- Metadata Services (TMDB, OpenSubtitles): Poster and subtitle search queries transmitted without personal identifiers.
Because Nexus Vision Player has no administrative access to third-party services, we cannot directly delete data stored on their servers.
6. Third-Party IPTV Providers and External Sources
Nexus Vision Player is an independent media player software. The app does not provide any IPTV playlists, streams, channels, or subscriptions.
Any playlists, subscriptions, and credentials provided by third-party IPTV services remain under the exclusive control and responsibility of those third parties. Nexus Vision Player cannot delete, cancel, or modify data held by third-party IPTV providers.
7. Data Retention and Processing Timelines
We adhere to the following retention and deletion timelines:
- Request Processing Time: All valid deletion requests are processed within a target timeline of 30 days from receipt.
- Immediately Deleted Data: Associated diagnostic logs, backend technical identifiers linked to the request, and resolved support tickets.
- Legally Retained Records: Financial and transactional records (such as Google Play purchase receipts and tax records) may be retained for the period mandated by applicable commercial and tax legislation (up to 10 years under European law), or for fraud prevention and security purposes.
8. Your Rights (GDPR)
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR - Regulation (EU) 2016/679), you have the right to:
- Access and Rectification: Request a copy of your technical data or request corrections;
- Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): Request the complete deletion of your personal/technical data;
- Withdraw Consent: Disable optional features (Crashlytics, Trakt) at any time within the app settings;
- Lodge a Complaint: Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority such as the Data Protection Authority (APD, Belgium) or CNIL (France).
